This Special Edition of the Timber 1.5m celebrates the 10th anniversary of the first-ever Timber that kicked off one of the most popular and best-selling series of RC aircraft of all time! It features the same short-nosed look and trim scheme as the original. However, it now includes all the modern conveniences, features, and technologies found in current Timber models – including a top-mounted hatch, stronger landing gear mounts and heavy-duty springs, plus many more that make it better than ever.
Many RC pilots got their first taste of flying a Short Take Off and Landing (STOL) capable airplane with the original E-flite Timber 1.5m model. Its friendly handling, nimble sport performance, and takeoff-and-land-almost-anywhere abilities made it one of the most popular RC aircraft of all time.
This Special Edition celebrates the 10th anniversary of that iconic model with the same short-nosed look and trim scheme – but with all the modern conveniences, features, technologies, and capabilities expected in Timber models today. These include a top-mounted hatch, stronger landing gear mounts, heavy-duty springs, combined wing connectors, and more.
Both versions feature durable metal-geared servos, a 3S and 4S compatible motor, and a higher-capacity 70A Spektrum Avian Smart Lite ESC. The BNF Basic version includes a factory-installed AR631+ receiver with enhanced AS3X+ and optional SAFE Select technologies, plus real-time telemetry including battery voltage, current, and more.
Hollow-core EPO construction with composite reinforcement results in a lightweight yet strong airframe capable of a wide variety of aerobatic maneuvers while keeping wing loading low for impressive STOL and slow flight performance. Optional-use leading edge slats and included floats expand your flying possibilities even further.
